Dakota Mayi Johnson is an American actress and model. She was born on October 4, 1989 in Austin, Texas, United States. She is the daughter of actors Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson. She has six half-siblings; two on her mother's side and four on her father's side. She studied at Aspen Community School in Aspen, Colorado. Later, she attended the Santa Catalina School in Monterey, California and then transferred to New Roads School in Santa Monica, California. As a child, she became interested in modeling and was an avid dancer.Dakota Johnson made her screen debut in 1999 comedy-drama Crazy in Alabama, alongside her mother, Melanie Griffith and half-sister, Stella Banderas. She was chosen as Miss Golden Globe and signed with IMG Models in 2006. In 2010, she starred in the David Fincher’s critically acclaimed biographical drama The Social Network which was a box office hit. Then she appeared in the romantic fantasy drama film Beastly (2011).
